Our Kindergarten Enrichment program is the missing piece for those kids who need the extra advancement of another year before entering Kindergarten. We understand the tough decisions parents face when enrolling their child for their first year of school; some kids aren't quite ready and some kids that are ready don't make the age cut-off. In our program we expose students to a fun and challenging academic which will fully teach the kindergarten curriculum in our small class. At the end of the year some kids may go right into first grade and some will be leaving for kindergarten.
This program builds on the advanced skills that our Pre-K class taught while encouraging each child to meet their own academic goals. We strive to teach this class the entire kindergarten curriculum so that when they enter grade school they will be confident in their skills and excited about learning!
Kindergarten learning experiences continue to be driven by the needs of the children through daily small-group instruction and detailed lessons tailored to the needs of the class that will encourage cognitive development. Each child gets to spend time with their teacher individually so that we can follow their progress closely and understand their individual needs.
The development of fine motor skills is advanced through writing with a pencil, safe scissor cutting, and drawing and painting independently. Daily outdoor play encourages the development of large motor skills through participation in a variety of movement activities. Our Kindergarten Enrichment Curriculum is rounded out by exposing our students to a wide variety of cultural and artistic experiences.
Your child and his or her classmates will have continuous opportunities to communicate, cooperate, play, and learn with one another. We strive to teach each child a combination of intellectual skills, motivational qualities, and socio-emotional skills, and how to properly use them to enhance social and emotional development and to succeed in school. We enjoy helping your child prepare for kindergarten and beyond, with the skills and confidence needed for a lifetime of academic success.
